Matt Sisson, OD, is an experienced optometrist at Optic Gallery Sparks in Sparks, Nevada. Passionate about providing personal, quality patient care, Dr. Sisson truly enjoys building relationships with each one of his patients.
Dr. Sisson was born and raised in eastern Virginia and graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After spending the next four years in San Diego working in the accounting field, he returned to Virginia in 2006, where he discovered his passion for eye care during a routine visit with his optometrist.
Dr. Sisson’s love for the Western United States and aspirations for a career change brought him to the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. He received his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and was a four-year member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. He completed internships with the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Reno, Hickam Air Force Base Eye Clinic in Hawaii, as well as surgical clinics in central Oregon.
Upon graduation, Dr. Sisson practiced in Reno with Dr. Al Dufur, before moving to Bend, OR, where he worked in a family eye care practice specializing in vision therapy. However, his love for Reno and the beautiful Sierras brought him back ‘home’ to northern Nevada once again.
In his spare time, Dr. Sisson enjoys traveling, trail running, and backpacking with his wife and two dogs. He also loves playing and listening to music, snowboarding, mountain biking, fly fishing, golf, and finding any other excuse to stay active and outside.
